My specialist knowledge
I joined Ritchie Phillips as Tax Manager in October 2018. I am a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. I began my professional life in London, initially joining Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) and then Touche Ross (now Deloitte).
After relocating to West Sussex from London with my husband and two children in 1997 I have worked for a number of accountancy practices in the Sussex area.
I strive to build good relationships with clients in order to be their first point of contact. My experience ranges from the preparation of annual tax returns, including identifying tax planning opportunities in relation to Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax, to providing support in the event of an HMRC enquiry or investigation.
More about me
I knew early on in my career that I wanted to specialise in the area of private client taxation having studied full time for the ACCA qualification as an alternative to a degree course. I joined one of the Personal Tax and Client Services groups at PwC as one of 6 graduate tax trainees which provided exposure to high net worth individuals early on in my career. I subsequently transferred to a mixed tax department at Deloitte thereby providing me with invaluable corporate tax experience. After starting a family in 1991 I relocated to a medium sized practice in the west end of London. I have continued to work predominantly in private client taxation over a career spanning more than 25 years.
I have also volunteered for a number of charities, including the Leonard Cheshire Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Society.
