My Specialist Knowledge

I specialise in private client taxation and have built up considerable experience and expertise in this field with an emphasis on agreeing complex taxation issues, both onshore and offshore, and helping clients achieve their financial objectives.

Three decades of experience enables me to provide a unique insight into the circumstances of individuals and families and the objectives they seek to achieve as they grow their wealth and in time, seek to pass it on to their heirs and successors.

Doing the difficult work is great but I also like to do the dependable “stuff” of accounts and tax returns to keep clients on track and manage their risk profile with HM Revenue and Customs. I also enjoy the journey with my clients from giving strategic advice, implementing that advice and seeing the advice help clients achieve their desired objectives.

My style is to communicate clearly and openly. I aim to help clients fully understand their financial and taxation position so they know how much tax they owe and when it is payable so that what remains is theirs and belongs to them to spend or invest as they decide. Working with me, clients obtain a high degree of confidence that they have made the right decisions in all the circumstances.

I am a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. In addition, I am the Chairman of the Private Client Committee of the Tax Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. I founded Ritchie Phillips in 2003 having worked for two of the leading private client accountancy firms in London.
